This workshop is oriented toward the jewelry student with little or no stone setting experience. The 4-prong head is generally considered the beginning of all prong setting for faceted stones and lays the foundation for setting more difficult shapes of faceted stones.
This workshop will focus the technical processes as well as the tools used to accomplish the setting.
Included, but not limited to, will be discussion on holding devices, proper fitting of stone to head, bur and tool selection, closing prongs onto the stone and finishing prongs.
Each step will be demonstrated. The student will then go through the process steps to set a stone.
The prong heads and stones will be provided by the instructor, along with a few other items. The current kit fee is $52 and is included in your tuition.
