Metalsmithing I and Workshop Cancellation Policies

Thank you for choosing Denver School of Metal Arts for your metalsmithing classes!  Our job is to give you the best up to date hands on training in the Denver Metro area.  Our beginning Metalsmithing Classes are very popular and most of our Metals I classes have a waiting list. Your seat in class is in high demand.  Enrollment into Metalsmithing I is a commitment on your part and full attendance in every session is crucial to your success in class. That is why we have set new policies in place for cancellations and absentees. The new policies are as follows:

Cancellations:

All cancellations must be sent in writing to mail@metalartschool.com

If you cancel your registration 14 or more days prior to the start date of your class DSMA will be happy to refund your tuition minus a $45 admin fee. Or, students have the option to receive a class credit for full tuition to apply towards any class or workshop.  This credit is valid for up to 6 months from the cancellation date only. All cancellations must be in writing and sent to
mail@metalartschool.com  It is the students responsibility to contact the administrator at the school to reschedule classes.

If you cancel your registration 13 or fewer days before the start date of class, or are a no call/no show for any class session there is no refund or class credit available.

 Missed Classes:
If you are enrolled in a Metalsmithing I class that has already started and you are going to be absent, you must call the school within 2 hours of your class start time. Failure to do so will result in your losing your spot in class and a forfeited tuition. Due to the complex technical processes taught , if a student misses one 3 hour class, the instructor will help you catch up (time permitting), but student will probably not finish both projects.
If a student misses a 5 hour class they should not expect to catch up. The instructor will work with the student time permitting on finishing the first project only.
Six or more hours missed in any class have no make ups.
(Refunds are not given for class transfers or any missed days as stated above).

Denver School of Metal Arts (DSMA) Policies and Procedures

Registration and Refund Policy for Classes and Workshops are as follows:

 Registration:

All classes and workshops are filled on a first come/first served basis. Students are considered registered for a class or workshop when DSMA has received full payment of tuition.  Walk-ins for classes are highly discouraged because of possible class cancelations or classes are already full.   If a person chooses to attend a class on a walk-in basis they will be charged an extra $25 and acceptance is subject to the teacher’s discretion. DSMA accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and personal checks. Any personal check that is returned will incur a service charge of $35.00. Returned checks will not be put through twice.  Credit card payments may be made over the phone with the administrator. Please phone 303-428-3162 during our normal business hours of M-T 9-5, & F 9-1. Once enrolled, students will receive an Enrollment Receipt via email or the postal service if we have no email address on file.

 Cancellations:

If a class or workshop is cancelled due to extreme inclement weather, school emergency,  or instructor illness, DSMA will make every attempt to notify students via e-mail (or phone if no e-mail). Students are responsible for checking e-mail or phone messages for school notifications. DSMA will post a message on its voicemail as well. If unsure if class will be held due to severe weather, call the school to see if class is cancelled.  After hours, phone our voicemail for a recorded message of any cancellations.

 Refund Policy and Tuition Transfers:

If a student  withdraws  14 or more business days before the start of a weekly class/workshop, student may apply that tuition toward a future class/workshop by requesting a ” Tuition Certificate”.  This entitles the student to apply money already paid to future classes/workshops for a period of up to one year. If student wishes to be reimbursed by check, a $45.00 administrative handling fee will be deducted from the refund. Checks will be mailed out within 2-3 weeks of cancellation.  All cancellations must be made in writing by emailing the school mail@metalartschool.com.

For students who withdraw 13 or fewer days before the start of a class/workshop, tuition will not be refunded. DMSA does not issue refunds once class has begun nor for classes/workshops missed by the student.

DMSA may make changes in classes, workshops, instructors, schedules or cancel a class/workshop due to insufficient enrollment as it deems fit. Enrolled students will be notified 48 hours in advance of the start of class/workshop if it is to be cancelled. If DSMA cancels a class/workshop, students can choose to receive a “Tuition Certificate” for the class/workshop amount to apply to a future class, or receive a refund check. Checks will be mailed within 2-3 weeks.

Late enrollment after the first class is at the discretion of the instructor.
