Metalsmithing II Class
Instructor: Darlene Armstrong

Pre-req: Metalsmithing I
Class Limit: 10

In this class students will build on previously learned skills in the Beginning Metalsmithing class and enhance their jewelry making abilities by learning how to make a 5-6 cabochon stone bracelet with a handmade toggle clasp, textured ring band with tube set faceted stone.

New techniques that will be learned are pick soldering, making jump rings, balling scrap silver, sawing and using tubing, making a toggle clasp, setting a faceted stone, practice making bezels to set various shaped cabochons, practice setting odd shaped stones, with an emphasis on modern finishing techniques. Upon completion of this class Students will be awarded a certificate of completion of 30 hours class time, as well as extensive step by step handouts for each project.
