Judy Brown

Judy Brown a retired accountant/auditor decided after 30 years of dominant left-brain functionality that it was time to balance life with right brain expressiveness.  “I have always been fascinated with art and the artist’s perspective of form and function.”   She begin taking jewelry/metalsmith classes and fell in love with the techniques for creating texture in various metals.  “I love the effects obtained from cuttlefish castings and etching.  Nature is such a phenomenal source of inspiration.”

Her passion for cuttlefish casting was stimulated by her Instructor’s challenge to see who could cast the thinnest gauge in Sterling Silver.  “Some of the best results in my work have come from challenging what I have learned by pushing it to another level.”  She has taught workshops on etching and cuttlefish casting. In 2007 she was awarded 2nd Place by the Art Alliance of Littleton in a juried show that encompassed all art mediums.  Judy received the 2009 Art Student Exhibition “Best of Jewelry & Metals” at the Colorado Gallery of the Arts.
