Hollow Form Shapes

Instructor:  Nan Blair

Prerequisite:  Metalsmithing 1

Limit:  8

Duration:  16 Hours (2 Days)

 

Materials:

Paper & pencil for sketching

6x6 inch or 6x4 inch of 24 gauge sterling silver sheet, dead soft

12-24 inches of 3mm x 1mm sterling silver strip

Hard, medium, and easy solder (wire or sheet)

18 inches of 12 gauge sterling silver wire, dead soft

Bring your stash of sterling sheet, wire, tubing etc. 

Tools:

Wire cutters, round nose, chain nose, flat nose pliers

Files (half round and round needle, and half round Habilis, 00 cut)

Jeweler’s Saw Frame

Saw blades (assorted) 5/0-7/0

Beeswax or bur-life lubricant for blades

Drill bits (assorted)

Jeweler’s ruler (metal)

Scribe

Dividers

Pripp’s flux, small spray bottle (eye glasses cleaner spray bottle works great for this)

Mizzy wheel w/mandrel

Cutting wheel w/mandrel

Safety Glasses, Apron, Magnification (if needed)

Toothpicks

Heavy Duty Bobby Pins
