Beginning Riveting
Instructor: Darlene Armstrong
Prerequisite: Beginning Metalsmithing

Class Limit: 10

This informative and fun class will introduce the student to the wonderful world of cold connections. Riveting is used to connect parts together without the use of soldering. There are books written on nothing but how to make jewelry using riveting techniques.  Perfect for someone wanting to learn a different way to build jewelry pieces without soldering, or a budding metalsmith who has not yet learned to solder. Students will practice these techniques on designs of their own which will be developed in the class.

Students must have good command of cutting out metal with jeweler's sawframe.

Students will learn all about tube rivets and flush riveting with wire.
